On this week’s episode of the Most Powerful Women in Sports podcast, we travel back to October 2021 when Adweek’s former chief content officer Lisa Granatstein sat down with Stephanie McMahon, interim chief executive officer of the WWE.

McMahon is no stranger to the sports world and the fandom attached to it. The WWE is in her DNA. She is the fourth generation McMahon to carry on her family’s tradition as a promoter, entertainer and business executive. She got her start early, modeling T-shirts in middle school and then stepped into the ring herself. McMahon also held down office jobs, starting as a receptionist, working in sales and then headed up WWE’s creative, including storylines. In 2013, McMahon became WWE’s chief brand officer.

During the conversation, McMahon speaks to forging her own path, promoting gender equity, her experience in the ring and the importance of storytelling within sports and the entertainment industry.
