Messenger added a Calls Tab to its Android and iOS applications to make it easier for users to connect with friends and family in one tap.

A Meta spokesperson said there are more than 300 million audio and video calls on Messenger every day, and the rate of average daily callers is up over 40% compared with early 2020.

The Calls Tab was developed by Meta’s Remote Presence product and platform team, which is behind the audio and video calling experiences across the company’s platforms.
