Twitter allows users to mute words and hashtags in order to stop seeing tweets containing those words and hashtags in their home feed. When a user mutes a word or hashtag, they will also no longer receive notifications about tweets that include that word or hashtag.

Users can view all of the words and/or hashtags they’ve muted in a list in Twitter’s Settings menu. While viewing this list, users can unmute content they’ve previously muted, and they can also change the amount of time to keep a specific word or hashtag muted (options are available ranging from 24 hours to “Forever”).
