David Nevins, a longtime Paramount programming executive, is exiting the company.
The executive, who served as chairman and CEO, Paramount premium group and CCO, Paramount+ scripted series, told The Wall Street Journal that the company attempted to keep him on, but it was his decision to leave. He will exit at the end of the year and consider his options before deciding on a future role.
At Paramount, Nevins was responsible for the development and deployment of scripted originals for Paramount+ and overseeing BET and Paramount Television Studios, as well as Showtime Networks and its channels.
WSJ also reported that Paramount CEO Bob Bakish sent a memo to company staffers on Thursday amid the exit news, praising Nevins’ efforts in leading Showtime and growing Paramount+.
