As Peter Kalmus sees it, the advertising and public relations industries have been a primary arena for climate communication for decades. It’s just that polluters have shaped the dominant narrative.

That’s why Kalmus, a climate scientist at NASA, teamed up with Harold Moss, founder of animation and production studio FlickerLab, to create the nonprofit Climate Ad Project in 2020.

The group aims to take the climate narrative back from fossil fuel companies, combining humor and climate science with a goal of inspiring a billion people to activism.
