M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment opens in Amsterdam

M&C Saatchi has had a tough old year with a £6m hole emerging in its accounts (the forensic accountants are on it – yikes) but it trucks on, now opening a new office in Amsterdam for M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment which it describes as a “passion point marketing and entertainment specialist.” Passion point? Founder client is Heineken.

M&C worldwide CEO Moray MacLennan says: “M&C Saatchi is a powerhouse of the company. Six times winners of best sports agency. And with the talent that we are launching in Amsterdam with, they can only go from strength to strength.”

M&C S&E CEO Steve Martin says; “We are always looking for opportunities to grow our footprint in the right locations, at the right time, for the right reasons. We have strong existing client relationships with brands like Heineken and we believe a great opportunity to creatively connect brands to their audiences through the things they love in a brutally simple way.”

The office will be co-headed by long-term M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment business director, Toan Ravenscroft and Jasper Hunter, former head of innovation and a strategy director at M&C Saatchi London.

Sport and entertainment are big revenue earners for agencies these days (as no doubt are passion points) and this is the seventh M&C S&E global outpost. In all, M&C has 29 offices in 23 countries.
