David Brill is a Democrat in Arizona. He wants to be elected to the United States Congress. Strangely, the siblings of his Republican opponent–David Gosar–also want Brill to be elected.
Representative Gosar, one of President Trump’s most loyal defenders, is the eldest son of a family of 10 children who grew up in Wyoming. Many of his siblings don’t share their brother’s hardline views. One of his brothers, Pete Gosar, ran for governor of Wyoming as a Democrat in 2014.
Grace Gosar, his sister says, “It would be difficult to see my brother as anything but a racist.”
These are strong political ads with a clear POV and solid testimony from people who know. They say all politics is personal. Doctor David Brill and his campaign went for the jugular here, and I admire their tenacity and will to win.
But will these ads help get the Democrat elected? Brill has a vanishingly small chance of defeating the incumbent in November, according to Phoenix New Times. The Fourth District is deep-red. It encompasses the far outskirts of metro Phoenix and huge swaths of northwest Arizona, including the cities of Prescott, Kingman, and Lake Havasu City. Gosar was re-elected with 71 percent of the vote in 2016.
Win or lose, we now know that David Brill is ready to play hardball, which is a job requirement and survival mechanism for life on Capitol Hill.
