Maryland Passes First-of-Its-Kind Digital Advertising Tax

On February 12, 2021, the Maryland General Assembly voted to override Governor Larry Hogan’s veto of House Bill 732, which carried over from the close of last year’s legislative session and enacts the nation’s first gross receipts tax on digital advertising targeted at Maryland consumers.
