A report from non-profit Mozilla finds certain operating systems control browser choice by using convoluted processes to nudge consumers to use their own browsers, rather than allowing them to choose freely.

The research also found many think they can choose their web browser, but are often stuck with the software that is pre-installed, set to default and difficult to change. More so, a person’s scope of choice for browser, especially on desktop, has been limited for many years, the report finds.
