Prime Factors, a leader in application-level data protection, has been recognized by Gartner as a Representative Provider in its Innovation Insight for Data Security Platforms, 2022.

In the Innovation Insight for Data Security, 2022, Gartner recognized Prime Factors, for its EncryptRIGHT® software, among Representative Providers of Broad-Spectrum Data Security Platforms (DSP), a space that is a top priority for organizations that are moving their data stores and analytics platforms into the cloud. Gartner recommends organizations, “choose DSP products that provide well-integrated, broad-spectrum controls for data stewardship, policies, and late-binding access. Popular late-binding access controls used by DSPs are cryptographic technologies such as tokenization and format-preserving encryption (FPE), dynamic data masking (DDM), and proprietary connectors and agents,” all of which we believe are included in the advanced security measures offered by Prime Factors EncryptRIGHT® software platform.

“We continue to see tremendous demand for broad-spectrum DSP functionality in the cloud but we believe that customers should be able to leverage the broad benefits of a data security platform regardless of where they are on their cloud-migration strategy,” said Henry Cheli, Prime Factors president.

“So often we see research in the market that dials in on one specific piece of functionality, while not addressing peripheral data protection techniques, so we were very pleased to see this report from Gartner on Data Security Platforms that addresses the benefits of bringing together numerous data protection functionalities across a single platform,” said Justin Teitt, chief operating officer of Prime Factors. “Protecting data, especially at the application level, where data is most at risk, can be exceptionally complex, and far too often, we see enterprises settle for fragmented data protection functionality that takes tremendous effort to integrate, leading to implementations that last months or even years. Our EncryptRIGHT solution, which is among the most advanced DSPs, not only seamlessly delivers all of our data protection functionality at the application level in a single code base, but it also features an elegant architecture that simplifies integration, delivering broad spectrum data-protection in just a few lines of code.”

In this report, Gartner assumes, “by 2027, at least 70% of data security platform (DSP) expenditure will go to vendors of DSPs with broad (not specialized) capabilities, up from approximately 10% in 2022.” According to Gartner, “organizations will use data security platforms (DSPs) for new data-related projects in the cloud, while continuing to struggle with fragmented legacy data security software for their on-premises data stores. This is because they plan to move most of their data and applications to the cloud in the midterm.”

“We continue to see tremendous demand for broad-spectrum DSP functionality in the cloud, however, we believe that customers should be able to leverage the broad benefits of a data security platform regardless of where they are on their cloud-migration strategy,” said Henry Cheli, president of Prime Factors. “Prime Factors has focused intently on our cloud-readiness during the past several years, including the ability to spin up capacity-on-demand in the cloud, while also ensuring that EncryptRIGHT can continue to deploy on-premises and, especially, in hybrid cloud environments to protect data wherever it is use, moved, or stored.”
