The VideoWeek Guide to DMEXCO 2023

Tim Cross 12 September, 2023

It’s just over one week until this year’s DMEXCO kicks off in Cologne on September 20th, bringing together tens of thousands of professionals from across media and advertising for two days of networking and content. The motto for this year’s event is “Empowering Digital Creativity“. Sessions across the event will explore how developments in artificial intelligence, and the ability of AI programmes to play a role in creativity, will impact our industry. Other industry trends like the metaverse, retail media, and digital fashion will also feature heavily across the programme.

VideoWeek is proud once again to be partnering with DMEXCO. We’ll be at the exhibition centre on both days filming video interviews and covering the conference, so do come and say hello if you see us about.

As always, we’ve put together a guide to all things video and TV at this year’s DMEXCO to help you plan out your time in Cologne.

VideoWeek @ DMEXCO

VideoWeek Cologne

We’ll be in Cologne from September 19th when we’ll be hosting VideoWeek Cologne, a half day event in the Raddison Blu hotel. Headline speaker Sir Martin Sorrell will be joined onstage by speakers from Nestlé, ProSiebenSat.1, GroupM, and more. There’s still time to book your place if you’re not already registered, click here to get your ticket.

CTV Advertising Guide 2024

If you’ve been to DMEXCO before, you’ll have hopefully picked up a copy of our annual CTV Advertising Guide, which lays out the state of the connected TV advertising industry in Europe. The newest edition of the guide, the CTV Advertising Guide 2024, will be released at this year’s event. Topics covered in this year’s guide include CTV’s role in omnichannel buying, retail data’s uses in CTV, attention measurement, broadcaster strategies, and programmatic setup for CTV. The guide also features an interview with Netflix’s President of Worldwide Advertising Jeremi Gorman, and updated versions of our industry maps for the UK, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany.

You’ll be able to pick up a physical copy from the trade press stands, and we’ll also be releasing a digital version which will be available to download for free.

VideoWeek on Stage

VideoWeek’s Editor-in-Chief Vincent Flood will be moderating a panel on day two titled ‘Between Fatigue and Euphoria: What is the State of Innovation in Streaming and Connected TV?’. The panel will cover the ways in which streaming services are attracting audiences, the role of first-party data in CTV, and the opportunities for AVOD platforms in a cost of living crisis among other topics

The panellists joining Vincent on stage will be:
